the infinitely cool and unceasingly benevolent ms castanet has tagged me and thereby provided a handy dandy emergency NaBloPoMo post. just what a girl needs on sunday night. besides a glass of smoky chilean red, smashed garlic potatoes, rare roast beast and shaved pecorino on the romaine. but i digress.
ahem.
The Rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
can do.
2. Share 5 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
oh crap.
a. i can milk a cow with some proficiency, however my mother forbade me to do so after i turned 13, something about boys not wanting to hold my rough hands. oh yes, she really said that.
b. my birthday is the anniversary of several national tragedies, including but not limited to abe lincoln’s death, the sinking of the titanic, and the day the irs demands we turn in those blasted tax forms. completed.
c. i’m an aries, but play well with other aries women. this is very strange.
d. i gained 68 pounds during my last pregnancy.
e. i am freakishly, FREAKISHLY good at tetris. this “skill” translates into a real life ability to pack staggering amounts of crap into the back of the car while the family looks on in wide-eyed horror and just a tinge of misguided pride. good times.
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
okey dokey:
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
sure thing.
5. Don’t break the chain!
i’ve always wanted to write that.

Comment by kelly November 18, 2007 @ 7:23 pmha ha ha, i love your list! and it does make a great emergency post, huh? perfecto!
i have something really inappropriate and funny to say about the cow-milking skills, but i will reserve it until we’re together in person.
we have “d” *and* “e” in common. a couple years ago i stopped with girlfriends at a massive town garage sale. we were on our way camping and the back of the suv was *completely* filled with camping supplies. we bought a full-sized chair and some other stuff while they protested it would never, ever fit. then i completely unpacked and repacked the back while they watched in fascinated horror. good times, indeed. ;^)
i loved writing “don’t break the chain” — that was all me. do kids today even *know* about “don’t break the chain”??!
Comment by Lori November 18, 2007 @ 7:58 pmYou have the same birthday as my sister! I didn’t know about the Lincoln and Titanic stuff on that day.
Comment by amy h November 18, 2007 @ 8:18 pmAh, it all makes sense now! I’m a Libra. Aries’ and Libras get along great!
I can milk a cow, too. My mother did not say anything about rough hands and boys, though. Neither did my father. Probably something about my mother not really wanting to milk the cow herself when my father was not able to do it, and something to do with not wanting me to touch boys, anyway.
I don’t know if I’m that good at Tetris, but it’s a game I like. And I am very good at stacking huge amounts of dishes in the dish drainer so taking anything from the pile is like playing a game of pick up sticks.
Comment by Bethany November 19, 2007 @ 1:51 amha ha! if you wouldn’t mind coming over on wednesday night to pack up our car, I’d greatly appreciate it.
i love tetris, but when i play a lot it freaks out my mind. walking around i’ll be playing in my head with the bricks on a building or the flagstones on the ground.
Comment by kirsten November 19, 2007 @ 8:19 amdude, that car packing thing? me too. freaks aaron out.
Comment by capello November 19, 2007 @ 11:45 amHey hey there, miss cutie cute pants! I will take you.
And I’m not even going to comment on that whole cow business.
Comment by Stefani November 19, 2007 @ 3:38 pmOh, no wonder I like you–I’m a fire sign too.
Wish I could chat more, but the kitchen is calling!
Comment by Jen November 21, 2007 @ 5:38 pmI am holding out on answering this until I have a full 30 minutes at the computer to come up with something 1/2 as witty as yours. They may not happen anytime soon…… but I will make it a goal. Thanks for picking me!
