thanks for the cake love. it was really, really fun to make. i dig miniature detailed stuff like that. good thing you didn’t see many close-ups, though. frosting = not my forté.
and the ideas came from here and here. but i’m warning you now the candy craziness in this house has reached Halloween-worthy levels due to the amount of *supplies* needed. word to the wise. and/or the diabetic.

little projects here and there and more for the weekend…
baby gifts because everyone i know is pregnant right now (not really but it sure seems that way. no, i’m not jealous)…

and bags for holding things, cause a girl’s gotta carry her stuff in style…

and by the way, who knew double-knit polyester was so fun and easy to cut and sew? zigzag and away! this fabric is from a very large thrifted dress, so you’ll be seeing a lot of it. probably.

I know. Eight baby gifts I need between now and November. Stay away from me - that’s all I’ve got to say about it.
And those poly polka dots - eeeeee!

And are you really not jealous? I’m totally jealous, but then I have these little flashes of sanity where I realize that I can’t handle another little dictator in the house. It’s hard for the sanity to get through the wanting that new born buzz, though, that I-just-had-a-baby-and-it’s-the-most-gorgeous-human-in-history thing, that deep nursing calm, and the sweet baby faces and smells. But no, I don’t really want another toddler demanding the orange cup for milk and the blue one for OJ. I’d recommend that if you’re not really jealous, that you NOT see Knocked Up, even though it will make you laugh and cry like a crazy person, because man, did I leave the theater wanting another baby…
