learn

doesn’t she look calm and relaxed, just sitting there? wishing for more of these moments right now.
we’re busy at my house. as in “no time to check even my most favorite blogs” busy and “no time to turn on my sewing machine” busy.
it’s lots of good stuff but school, mostly. My kids are in the thick of a large amount of memory work (poetry! addition tables! months of the year!) and I am doing my best to stay with the program and be their dutiful instructor. It’s time-consuming, and it’s all we do some days, other than three meals, laundry for 5 people, keeping the germs at bay and fighting the lack of sun problem i deal with - although the homemade light box is helping a lot more than expected.
anyway, must limit my internet time for now (tearfully and with longing looks) and am bidding you farewell for just a few days, my pretties ~ be well and stay warm. I’ll be back on my blogging feet in no time.

25 days
so this is it. the end of my 25 day trek of hunting down tidbits of joy in my world and sharing them with you.
funny that today, the last day, is the one i’d forget, and one of the few days that was so long and so exhausting it’s all we can do here to keep our hands washed and our tummies filled with sustenance, and not necessarily in that order.
so this is it. it was good for me to do this. the goal i set for myself made me search for good things, which as a glass-half-empty girl i tend to ignore.
here’s one last thing i see every day that makes me happy: the quilt my mom gave me last year after many years of my covert (or maybe not!) yearning to have it in my house.
thanks for sharing these days with me.
g’night

• • • day 22
(day 21 was a migraine and that’s all i have to say about that.)

found someone’s entire collection in the trash today (this is just a small part, and yes, I’m the lady who stops to look through your end-of-the-drive garbage - I also snagged an old metal table on casters that will be awesome in my laundry room.)
kinda makes you wonder, did they just get tired of trying to make all those
“good things” or ?…
• • • day 20, an oldie but goodie
(the photo and the granny)

my mom will be watching the kids while we’re living la buena vida in June.
they probably won’t miss us a bit.
• • • day 18 and santa brings it

handmade journal from FIL’s travels.
tomorrow I’ll tell you what was inside…
• • • day 15 (actually, we had tikka masala)

by the husband
housewarming gift for a restaurant-owning friend who serves a towering (and delicious) 8-layer citrus cake as her signature dessert.
