little of this, little of that.

yes, i made more rolls. shuttie!
finished the little swing top for my daughter from a vintage dress i’ve had for ages. (don’t tell anyone but i just took another a-line top she has and cut out a cardboard pattern. just to see if i could do it.) the new Necchi needs some cleaning/servicing but still works like a dream. love it.
the print is so cute. we cuffed some jeans, too, for an outfit. i’m not usually so matchy but it was good practice. of course my uberseamstress older sis came over for a looksee and pronounced my finishing techniques “in need of improvement.” harumph.
so few sales this weekend but did find a great book illustrated by Masha (one of my favorites) and am working on a Christmas card design. i know it’s July but holiday cards are so much fun to design. (warning, don’t google for Masha without the word illustrator unless you’re prepared to look at russian bunnies, and not the furry 2-legged kind ).
oh, and we worked on building/argued about the design of a new island base for the kitchen and it’s nearly done, just looking for the right old hardware - a trip to ReStore is in order, methinks?
hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, whatever you did or didn’t do.
edited to remove photos because my DSL is freaky today and nothing will load. argh.

Isn’t she cute with her little haircut?! I can’t wait to meet her in person.
Comment by Alicia A. July 24, 2006 @ 5:58 pmi just ask for the “dutch bob” at Great Clips… :)
we should be around this week! not sure about today, i have a weird change-of-the-weather sore throat and am feeling a bit poorly…perhaps a little advil will correct things.
Comment by estea July 24, 2006 @ 6:31 pmOh, I’m not the only one with a sore thoat then? Goody (that’s sacrasm — speaking of which, did you read that Tina Fey AND Rachel Dratch are leaving SNL for 30 Rock? I’m disappointed and excited all at the same time).
Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. And surely your sister was just being “sisterly,” right?

Well, the bread looks tasty, the hair cut is flippin’ adorable, and the outfit is way too cute. I’m impressed. Also, looking forward to seeing the finished island.
:( I could only see the first one.
YUMMY. I would love to have one of those with jam please.
I am really interested in sewing, especially when I have a baby girl.
How did you start?
