robot•jumping•rope

so here it is, my very first sew. I apologize for the shakin’ photos - my model would not sit still (and she refuses to part with the dress so it can be hemmed). It’s a little big (a 6 and she’s a small 5) so will be for next summer if i can ever get it off her body. The fabric was a dress made from an old cotton sheet, the trim, pocket and bodice lining are from one of my granny’s old aprons. I’ll shorten the ties, too - and don’t look closely at those gathers!

I think it turned out pretty well, and wasn’t that hard following the pattern. The toughest part was finding some trim, because lord knows i can’t leave anything unembellished. Luckily I came upon the apron in a box of fabric in the basement. I love that it was my gran’s.
